After a hard fight, women’s water polo was finally recognized as an Olympic sport in the 2000 summer Olympics.  Like the men’s side, women’s water polo is growing quickly throughout the US collegiate leagues.  With 32 Division I teams and 26 Division II and III teams recognized by the NCAA, women’s water polo is a wonderful sport for young athletes to compete in through their collegiate careers.
