NEWS:
 
Krikorian, Sanders and Rond earn ACWPC honors.  Adam Krikorian (UCLA), Larry Sanders (UCSD) and Craig Rond (CLU) are the 2007 Coach of the Year winners for 2007.  Krikorian was voted the D1 COY and his UCLA Bruin women captured their 3rd consecutive title.   Coach Sander’s UCSD squad had an impressive year and his Triton women were the top ranked D2 team.  Coach Rond continues his success at CLU, winning the D3 championships.
 
ACWPC Sets Goals for remainder of 2007:
In the first of two meeting ACWPC coaches met to establish goals for the remainder of the year.
 
Goal #1: 100% membership for ’07 - ’08 school year.  MIT Head Coach Felix Mercado will head up the effort to assure all college water polo coaches are members of the association.
 
Goal #2:  Explore the prospect of working toward a DIII NCAA Championship.  The Executive council will begin deliberating on the feasibility of this prospect and gather feedback from members
 
Goal #3: Establish regional development alliances to add and support emerging programs.

Cal’s Everist Named ACWPC 2006 Men’s Coach of the Year. Kirk Everist was voted Coach of the Year by his colleagues following his teams impressive 2006 season which culminated in the NCAA title.
